People often underestimate the emotional depth of dogs, not realizing they possess the ability to feel a wide range of emotions. Many understand this yet still act cruelly, leaving their loyal companions in terrible situations filled with uncertainty and heartbreak. Mudder, a soon-to-be mama dog, was one such victim; she was heartlessly tossed from a car in a Missouri park, with her owner not even looking back.
The Most Shocking Text Message
The Stray Rescue of St. Louis team, having witnessed many heartbreaking situations over the years, was shocked when a kind passerby alerted them about Mudder. The passerby texted:
“Hi Stray Rescue. I just saw this dog get dumped. I’m pretty sure she’s pregnant. Can you help her?”
Immediately, they dispatched a team led by Donna Lochmann to the area. The park was known as a “dumping spot,” but this case stood out as particularly heartbreaking. Upon arrival, they spotted Mudder overlooking the Mississippi River, devastated and covered in mud and rain.
Despite her distress, Mudder was a genuinely sweet dog. Although her recent events left her shattered, she quickly warmed up to Donna and the team, allowing them to put a leash on her. There was still a flicker of trust in her heart that even her owner’s cruel abandonment couldn’t extinguish.
Thankfully, the passerby managed to capture a photo of Mudder’s abandoner’s license plate, leading Stray Rescue to work with local authorities to hold them accountable.
She Needs Someone To Help Her Start A New Chapter
The ride with her rescuers felt much more secure. Mudder was comfortably placed in the passenger seat and even allowed them to capture an adorable photo, marking the beginning of her new chapter. Now, the pressing question remains: how long will it take before someone opens their home to her?
Mudder will need a foster to ensure a healthy pregnancy, as she is now safe with the rescue team. “She needs a foster home where she can finish her pregnancy, give birth, and nurse her babies in peace,” noted SRSL in a video post.
Once she settles into a loving home, Mudder is sure to reveal her true colors and show how much she has to offer after her mothering duties are complete. We are confident of this!
