Poe Defies All Expectations

For Jill, a Chicago resident who owns three rescue dogs, having Poe was truly a gift. When Poe was adopted a decade ago, she was in terrible condition. In fact, Jill was so concerned she wouldn’t have Poe for longer than a year.
But Poe had other plans!
Not only did she bounce back swiftly, but this spirited girl started embracing life like never before.

Before long, her face was adorned with the cutest smile Jill had ever seen on a dog. Thrilled to finally find a loving home, Poe’s grin became a permanent fixture!
Alongside her family and her two wonderful furry siblings, Finn and Penny, she rediscovered the joys of life.
“Rescuing Poe was undoubtedly one of the greatest decisions I ever made. She is my best friend—a little ray of light and hope,” Jill shared with The Dodo.

Poe adored joining her mom on early morning commutes during the week, always the first one at the door. On weekends, she lived a completely different lifestyle—spending quality time with her grandparents!
She was absolutely delighted to ride in her grandpa’s golf cart every time she visited, relishing every moment. The grandparent visits were filled with love, but the golf cart rides? Those were just the cherry on top!

There isn’t a soul who didn’t instantly adore this Pittie girl. She embodies love and has an incredible rapport with people.
As a loving sister to her dog siblings, Poe took on a maternal role, showering them with affection, protecting them, and mothering them in the sweetest manner.

Sadly, after ten wonderful years with her Chicago family, Poe’s journey on this earth came to an end.
The family was heartbroken to say goodbye to such an integral part of their lives, yet they found solace in knowing she lived her best life. She crossed the rainbow bridge with joy in her heart, and that was the greatest comfort to her humans.
“I find it hard to express the beauty of this perfect little soul. I’m forever thankful that I spent 10 incredible years with her,” Jill shared in an Instagram post.
