Man Discovers Astonishing Finds in the Basement of His New Missouri Home

Date:

Canines are amongst the most lovable beings on earth, deserving of our endless love and care. It saddens us to know that many innocent pups face mistreatment at the hands of heartless individuals. However, today we share the uplifting tale of Jumping Bean, a wonderful Pittie who also endured hardship. She was left locked and chained in the basement of an abandoned house in Missouri, waiting for her chance to be rescued.

Rescuing Jumping Bean

Upon purchasing the house, an unnamed man was horrified to discover a Pit Bull tied to the stairs in the basement. The relieved pup was thrilled to be found and eagerly wagged her tail. The man quickly reached out to Stray Rescue of St. Louis, informing them about the dog who had been left in such dire conditions.

The rescue team, led by Donna Lochmann, the chief life-saving officer, responded with urgency. After gaining the homeowner’s permission, the rescuers descended into the basement and were met with a heartbreaking sight: a chained Pittie gazing up at them with eyes filled with hope.

As Lochmann carefully untied her, the ecstatic pup greeted her with affectionate sniffs and licks, unable to contain her excitement.

“She was nearly choking herself with excitement! When we freed her, she couldn’t stop jumping and giving hugs,” recalled Natalie Thomson, the chief communications officer of Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

Lochmann placed a leash on her and led her outside, while other rescuers investigated her previous living conditions. They learned that a squatter had occupied the basement, leaving behind waste and this adorable dog, with no food for her to survive.

The Pooch Is Over The Moon

As soon as Jumping Bean stepped outside, she erupted with joyful leaps, seemingly celebrating her long-awaited freedom. “It felt like she was proclaiming, ‘I am here! I matter!’ We named her Jumping Bean because it perfectly captured her exuberance,” shared Thomson.

The jubilant pup eagerly hopped into the car as rescuers gently stroked her, bringing her a sense of comfort with the knowledge that she was finally safe. Her wagging tail reflected the joy of her rescuers as they enjoyed the ride of freedom.

Afterward, Jumping Bean was taken to the vet, where it was confirmed she was in good health. She was slightly underweight and required treatment for heartworms, but overall, she was fine. The shelter staff showered her with love and affection, which she wholeheartedly reciprocated. “Her personality is absolutely charming. She adores every person she meets and seeks their attention. She is incredibly energetic and affectionate, always radiating happiness,” Thomson described.

Riding Into The Sunset With Her Forever Parents

After her recovery, Jumping Bean was eager to find a loving home. Joseph and Kristin Mills visited the St. Louis shelter in search of a dog. As soon as they met Jumping Bean, they were smitten. It was clear to them that she was meant to join their family.

“Her joy to be out in the world was unmistakable. Kristin and I both felt a connection, and the decision was easy,” said Mills.

The delightful pup now goes by Arya, embracing her new life with her forever family. Her parents cherish her deeply, and Arya ensures they know just how much she adores them. She loves cuddling and feels an overwhelming sense of love in return.

We are thrilled to see Arya thriving in the life she truly deserves after a troubled past. She has found her happy ending, and it couldn’t be more heartwarming.
