Paul Guilbeault, living in Arizona, was devastated when he lost Damian during a family move from Massachusetts. A brief stop turned into an agonizing experience when Damian, frightened, bolted away and never returned. Despite extensive searching and posting flyers, the family’s efforts failed.
In an emotional Instagram post, Paul recounted: “Eight long years ago while moving back to Arizona from Massachusetts, I lost my dog. Devastated, we extended the trip to look for him, but with no luck, we continued on.”
Fast forward to 2025, Paul was on his way to California to assist wildfire victims when he received a shocking message: Damian had been found! The memories of hope and loss rushed back. Was his beloved dog really safe after all these years?
Contacting Damian’s finders, Paul found out that this little pup had been discovered on a road in Oklahoma, just thirty miles from where he originally went missing. Donna Bentley, who found him, took him to her brother, and a vet identified Damian through his microchip. It was truly a miracle!
