Lost Dog Discovered in Dumpster, Wrapped in Duct Tape, Cries Out for His Mom

Date:

Every pet owner fears the unimaginable loss of their beloved companion.

In such difficult times, thoughts race about their whereabouts, safety, and whether they’ll find their way back home.

Sadly, some individuals fail to grasp the emotional capacities of animals, treating them with a shocking lack of empathy.

A Heart-Wrenching Incident

When a worker at an Omaha accounting office heard unusual sounds from a dumpster, she initially assumed it must be a raccoon.

Feeling uneasy about investigating late at night, she hoped that someone else would come to release the stray creature.

However, upon her return the next morning, she was horrified to discover it wasn’t a raccoon at all. It was a frightened puppy wrapped in duct tape.

The poor puppy’s head was completely wrapped in tape, his back legs were bound together, and his tail was also secured with duct tape. To make matters worse, his fur was matted with food and debris.

The concerned individuals quickly called Animal Control to report the dire situation.

“I’ve never encountered a scenario like this,” said Kevin W, one of the staff who discovered the puppy.

The distressed pup was promptly taken to the Nebraska Humane Society, where he received the urgent care he needed.

Finally in Safe Hands

Upon arrival at the Nebraska shelter, the puppy was sedated to facilitate the removal of the tape and debris.

Due to the strong grip of the duct tape, the staff had to shave off portions of his fur to completely free him from it.

Once freed, the puppy was overjoyed and showered his rescuers with affection.

The staff then performed a thorough health check, confirming that despite some minor skin irritation, he was in good health.

Fortunately, the pup was microchipped, enabling the Nebraska Humane Society to identify him as Leo and contact his owners.

It turned out that Leo’s mother had reported him missing the moment he vanished, and she was overwhelmed with joy to have him safely back. Nonetheless, she struggled to comprehend why anyone would subject him to such cruelty.

“He’s the sweetest dog! I can’t fathom why someone would do this to him,” expressed Erin, Leo’s mother.

Fortunately, Leo and his family can now put this traumatic experience behind them, as he is back home in safety and warmth, never to endure such a situation again!

Seeking Information

Regrettably, the dumpster where Leo was discovered is located in an area devoid of surveillance cameras.

The Nebraska Humane Society is appealing to anyone with information about this incident to contact them immediately at Nebraska Humane Society

They are offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest in connection to Leo’s case.
