The Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) discovered the dog wandering alone and took him into their facility.
Without a microchip, the shelter staff had no way of knowing that he had an owner.
Upon arriving at the shelter, the staff instantly adored his gentle and loving nature. They named him Jose.
Although the staff noticed he was a bit shy, they had no idea that he was desperately longing for his dad and dreaming of being reunited.
The staff couldn’t resist sharing a video of Jose on the shelter’s TikTok account, captivated by his charm.
“At 135 pounds, he was a lovable, gentle giant [who] was too precious not to share,” they mentioned in a TikTok video.
Mecca had not received any updates regarding his cherished dog, and he began to lose hope of ever embracing him again.
Then, weeks after his pup went missing, Mecca stumbled upon the TikTok video showcasing his beloved dog.
Seeing his pup’s adorable face filled Mecca with immense joy.
His best friend was finally safe and sound.
Mecca quickly reached out to the Animal Care Centers of NYC to inform them that his dog’s name was Mecca Jr. and that he was the rightful owner.
The staff reviewed images of the dog on Mecca’s TikTok and invited him to visit the shelter as soon as possible.
The Happiest Reunion
Early the next day, Mecca hurried to the shelter, eager to reunite with his lost dog.
When the pup spotted his cherished human once more, he couldn’t contain his excitement. He transformed into a completely different dog.
Mecca Jr. began to circle around joyfully, a beaming smile on his face.
