Sawyer is a hopeful pup who was saved from a puppy mill alongside his littermates and brought to a Wisconsin shelter. Every day, he hoped for a chance, but as one sibling after another got adopted, Sawyer was left feeling alone and heartbroken. While he pleaded behind those bars, his heart shattered, waiting for someone to notice him.
Unbeknownst to him, fate had other plans; all he needed was a little more patience!
Heartbroken To Be Left Out

Sawyer arrived at Elmbrook Humane Society as a shy and terrified puppy, merely a tiny bundle of joy fitting in a pocket. His past trauma weighed heavily on him as he struggled to adapt to his new surroundings. Before he could find his footing, he was mishandled in a puppy mill, treated like just another number, but fortunately, he was rescued with his siblings before he could be subjected to further cruelty.

Sadly, Sawyer’s journey didn’t end at the shelter. As he was placed in a loving adoptive environment, he faced a different kind of heartbreak. Although surrounded by care and affection, he felt the void left by his littermates, each of whom found loving homes while he remained behind, dealing with a profound sense of loss.
This little Cattle Dog, desperate for attention, looked through the bars with the most heartbreaking gaze, lost without his family yet yearning for one of his own. Despite his timid exterior, he was a sweet companion ready to offer a lifetime of love.
“Sawyer is a shy but endearing puppy, still adjusting to life outside of the puppy mill where he came from. While he may be timid at first, his quiet, sweet personality hints at the loving companion he’s meant to be,” his Shelterluv profile reads.
Sawyer spent days longing for a brighter future until, a family walked in and changed his life for good.
Finally, Good News

In a heartwarming update shared by the Elmbrook Humane Society on social media, Sawyer was seen cradled in the arms of his new family, who had committed to embarking on a life-changing journey with him.
“Update: Sawyer is no longer sad, alone, or in a cone! Thank you to his new family for choosing to adopt and thank you to everyone who shared Sawyer’s story,” EHS announced in the video.
