A Very Cruel Fate
While going about her daily chores, a woman from Kansas stepped outside to dispose of her trash when she heard an unusual noise. Upon investigating, she was shocked to discover a dog trapped inside a dumpster, confined within a wire kennel without any means of escape. She quickly contacted Wichita Animal Action League, who swiftly came to the dog’s aid, taking him to a veterinarian clinic due to starvation and potential infections. The vets provided excellent care and later transferred him to new foster parents, Lee and Darcy.
Bowie’s So Happy Now
During his time with Lee and Darcy, Bowie gained significant weight and no longer appeared malnourished. He had developed quite the appetite, making it necessary for his caretakers to slow his eating by using food puzzles. One of the rescuers, Sarah Coffman, wished to foster Bowie herself but was disappointed when he was assigned to a different temporary home. She recounted to The Dodo her determination to convince her husband to foster Bowie. Upon arrival at Connie’s home, she was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome Bowie received.
Bowie’s New Foster Parents
Connie’s affection for Bowie became evident almost instantly; he exuded happiness and love, which took everyone by surprise. His new fosters took him on regular walks, and they quickly realized he enjoyed them immensely. Connie remarked, “When he first started running, it was like a baby learning to walk. The more he does it, the more he enjoys it.” They also treated him to delicious pup cones at Andy’s Frozen Custard in Kansas. Bowie’s spirit flourished, and it was as if nothing could dampen his newfound joy; he truly was loving life. His fosters are incredibly proud of the remarkable progress he has made, transforming into a completely different dog. They wish him all the best on his new adventures.
