Iowa Man Stunned to Find Heartbreaking Scene in Plastic Trash Bag by the Roadside

Date:

We often come across disheartening stories about dogs struggling to survive on the unforgiving streets, abandoned and alone. Each time, we discover a new case of human cruelty that shocks and saddens us deeply. This was the case when a man stumbled upon a situation in Iowa that was utterly heartbreaking.

He Couldn’t Even Walk

The Des Moines Police Department shared in a Facebook post that a man discovered a plastic trash bag on the roadside in Des Moines, Iowa, which was gently moving. This prompted him to investigate further, and to his astonishment, he found a Bulldog’s head peeking out from the bag, with the rest of its body trapped inside, sealed with tape and rendering it unable to walk. This remarkable man acted without hesitation, rushing to assist the suffering animal.

“At approximately 4:30 PM on December 10th, a dog was delivered to the City Of Des Moines Animal Services facility, 1441 Harriett Street, after being found abandoned alongside the SE 14th Street railroad viaduct.” Des Moines Police wrote in the post.

When the dog arrived at the shelter, it was in poor condition, weighing only 23 pounds. Fortunately, the veterinary team sprang into action, determined to nurse him back to health.

Hopefully, Justice Will Be Served

In an interview with The Associated Press, Segregant Paul Parizek noted that the Bulldog was beginning to recover, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the veterinary team. However, it was disheartening that they had not yet identified the individual responsible for abandoning the dog.

Nevertheless, they discovered a significant clue that could assist in resolving this case: “One notable feature of the dog is that its ears have been cropped, indicating possible prior veterinary care,” they reported. They appealed to the community to assist in bringing the perpetrator to justice, aiming for a positive outcome for the pup.

“If you recognize this dog, please contact the Des Moines Police Department,” they urged, providing all necessary information in the post.

We can only hope for a successful resolution, not just for justice to be served, but also for the Bulldog to make a complete recovery and find a loving home.
