Internet Moved by Fourth Grader’s Heartfelt Letter to Neighbors with a Dog—Find Out Why!

Date:

Children embody the essence of innocence in this world, much like our beloved dogs. Their feelings are genuine, their actions untainted by ulterior motives, and their behavior can be astonishing.

A boy named Troy exemplified the kindness and compassion that kids can have.

Upon realizing that his neighbors had an adorable dog, Troy felt compelled to extend his affection to this furry friend.

However, the circumstances at the time weren’t conducive to socializing. This was during the pandemic when we were all required to maintain distance and protect ourselves from the virus.

Yet, Troy discovered a way to forge a connection with the charming pup next door via a heartfelt method: a hand-written letter.

Ah, the pandemic… a period many of us would prefer to forget.

It was a challenging time filled with many new experiences. Now that it’s behind us, let’s take a moment to reflect on some of the heartwarming aspects it brought forth.

While there weren’t many positives, one significant outcome was that it drew us closer together.

Feeling the sting of loneliness from not seeing his friends, Troy, then a fourth-grader, realized he was not the only one feeling this way. His neighbors had a dog, a Golden Retriever pup named Arthur, also affectionately called Arthur the Floof.

Gathering his courage, Troy decided to send a hand-written note to Arthur’s family. The letter read:

“Hello neighbors, my name is Troy, I’m in 4th grade and I’m just wondering if maybe after this virus you need a dog sitter and if so, I can take your dog on walks and more.”

The message, crafted in red and blue ink, was undeniably a sweet gesture from Troy.

Who could possibly reject such a polite young boy who adores dogs?

Clearly, Arthur’s family didn’t, as they arranged a playdate for the boy and the pup!

My New Fren, Troy

The little pup, Arthur, was thrilled to encounter a new human friend. Although safety protocols were in place, the two enjoyed a delightful meetup, and a beautiful friendship blossomed.

“I made friends with a small hooman today. He’s like basically me-sized. I bet I can get him to give me more treats than my hoomans,” joked Arthur on his Instagram.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Arthur and Troy enjoyed their time together while adhering to social distancing, allowing their genuine friendship to flourish.

Sadly, there are no pictures of Troy and Arthur, as we prioritize the privacy of children online.

Although their photos may be absent, what did capture attention was the letter Troy penned to Arthur’s mom. This charming note quickly gained viral recognition, catapulting Arthur to stardom.

“My hoomans told me that me and my fren Troy broke the pupernet yesterday,” Arthur proclaimed to his followers on Instagram.

Troy and Arthur certainly provided the internet with heartwarming content through their thoughtful letter.

Arthur The Floof Today

Much has transformed since the pandemic days. For Arthur, there have been numerous positive shifts. He’s now a stunning Golden Retriever.

His human graduated, life became more enjoyable, and he lived in Utah and Chicago. Arthur blossomed into a virtual globe-trotter and an internet star.

Truly, many significant changes have taken place.

Arthur still cherishes memories of Troy and their bond. Though Troy has grown, Arthur frequently reflects on their friendship and the understanding they shared.

“For the last day before my birthday, I had to look back on the thing that brought me all you! Thanks to my pal down the hall I made so many internet frens this year. Just as an update, Troy and I hung out a lot before I moved to Utah! This will always be our fav quarantine memory,” Arthur shared in a post.

Dogs like Arthur are never forgotten. Children like Troy grow into remarkable individuals.

And photos and videos live on forever, especially when they find a place on Instagram. Check out Arthur the Floof for delightful content.
