It All Started With Moxie
Some years ago, Jess made a pivotal choice – to embark on a transformative journey around the globe with her German Shepherd, Moxie.
This spark ignited her passion like never before, and Jess was elated. However, she was unprepared for the numerous challenges that lay ahead.
Together with her husband Greg and her loyal furry companion, Jess traversed thousands of miles on a multi-year expedition named GoRUFFLY. The trio explored diverse continents and shared a plethora of thrilling road trip anecdotes with their followers until tragedy struck.
While journeying through California in Baja, Moxie began to limp on one leg. After a visit to the vet, she underwent a standard surgery, but sadly, she had a negative reaction to the anti-inflammatory medication, leading her to cross the rainbow bridge.
Jess’ world shattered, leaving her devastated and uncertain about continuing her adventure without her cherished friend.
That’s when Whimsy entered their lives!
While in Los Angeles, contemplating their futures, this lovely Shepherd captured their hearts. From the instant Jess laid eyes on her, she sensed that Whimsy was destined to fill the void left by Moxie!
Welcome, Whimsy, And Enjoy The Ride
To say that Whimsy adapted well from the start would be an understatement! Not only was she thrilled by the prospect of riding a motorcycle, but she quickly mastered it!
Using treats, Jess taught her how to sit, extend her tail, and stay still to ensure her safety, and Whimsy took to it as if she had been riding forever!
Moreover, her adventurous nature has made everything simpler! Whimsy is a naturally cheerful dog who adores discovering new things.
So far, they have journeyed countless miles together.
“Whimsy loves being out and about, soaking in new sights and smells. We’ve now traveled approximately 40,000 kilometers together,” Jessica shared with GeoBeats Animals.
Before any ride, Jess ensures that Whimsy is securely harnessed, especially while riding in the front. Additionally, she dons adorable pink goggles to shield her eyes from the wind, making her the most noticeable pup wherever they go!
There’s something irresistibly charming about a dog on a motorbike, and Jess fully understands this. With Whimsy by their side, she and Greg have forged numerous friendships worldwide, and Whimsy has thoroughly enjoyed every moment!
For Whimsy, the joy of traveling the globe likely comes from all those wonderful nights spent camping. This way, she can enjoy her freedom while being close to her mom and dad.
Her life is truly fulfilling, and her human parents couldn’t be more thankful to have her!
