A kind woman discovered the puppy lying on the toilet floor and wasted no time alerting Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control in Indiana about the dire conditions he was in. He was extremely malnourished, with a visible spine and urine-stained paws.
“This sweet boy was malnourished with his rib cage and spine showing, had urine-stained paws and overgrown nails, and was quite scared. Our medical team examined his overall health, and the main concern was getting him to a healthy weight,” stated the rescue in a Facebook post.
In addition to necessary medical care, the priority was to shower this sweet boy with love, as he was visibly frightened. Remarkably, he quickly warmed up to his rescuers, displaying affection just as if he had known them forever.
Upon arriving at the shelter, he transformed into the sweetest lapdog, reveling in love for the first time! The medical team created a special meal plan to ensure safe recovery and rebuild his strength.

After his rescue, the puppy was placed in a foster home, which turned out to be a fantastic decision. He has been a bundle of joy since meeting his rescuers and is ready for a brand new life.

Just a day later, they proudly announced that the puppy found in a porta-potty is now named Louie, which means ‘famous warrior.’
