Sprout had irritated skin and a severe infection that needed urgent care. Fortunately, she was admitted to the right organization, where staff promptly developed a plan for her recovery. Hours later, she was sedated and placed on the operating table for her treatment, with caregivers performing extensive shaving to alleviate her suffering.

“We removed 32.4 lbs of mats that tugged on her skin causing pain, irritation, and a raging skin infection. For the first time in who knows how long, Sprout can urinate, defecate, walk, and lay down without pain,” stated the Illinois rescue on social media.
