Heartwarming Transformation: Stray Pup Covered in Mange Shows Gratitude After Foster Mom Gives Her a Bath

Date:

Numerous stray puppies roam, hoping for a brighter future as they fight to endure the perils of lonely streets.

These dogs aspire to find a family that will love and cherish them abundantly.

Gloria, an affectionate puppy suffering from mange, yearned for compassionate individuals who would nurture her and show her tenderness.

This little girl, believed to be around nine to ten weeks old, felt a flicker of hope when Burlington Animal Services came to her rescue.

The kind-hearted staff at Hope Animal Rescue, a non-profit organization in North Carolina, welcomed Gloria into their care, marking the start of a new chapter in her life.

Upon learning about a small puppy with mange, the rescue reached out to Emily Dunn, one of their devoted foster volunteers.

When Dunn caught sight of Gloria’s picture, her enchanting eyes captivated her. Without hesitation, she agreed to bring the little pup home and provide the care she desperately needed.

The following day, Dunn met Gloria for the first time and was taken aback by her distressed condition.

The veterinarian diagnosed the puppy with demodex mange and a skin disorder, leaving her with very little fur on her wrinkled, crusty skin.

Upon seeing Dunn, Gloria wagged her tail, as if sensing that help had arrived.

Dunn tenderly caressed the little dog, gently cradling her face in her hands.

Once at her home in Raleigh, North Carolina, Dunn immediately provided Gloria with a medicated bath.

Gloria felt a sense of comfort and tranquility. Her eyes shone with appreciation and fondness as she looked up at her foster mom.

Dunn was utterly enchanted by her. The puppy simply desired affection and to be held close.

During her initial visit to the vet, Dunn was in for quite a surprise.

After conducting a thorough examination, the veterinarian concluded that although Gloria appeared to be a puppy, she was actually an adult dog.

Both Dunn and the veterinarian speculated that Gloria might have been the result of unfortunate backyard breeding.

Days later, Gloria’s skin showed signs of improvement.

“We are thrilled to see her fur starting to grow back and for her to become less crusty. In just a few short days, her markings are becoming more visible, and she’s shedding much less. Despite everything, her happy and spirited personality remains unchanged,” Dunn shared with Newsweek.

This precious puppy relishes her time in foster care. She loves snuggling with Dunn and basking in her unwavering affection.

“She instantly wags her tail and craves love the moment you make eye contact with her… She enjoys curling up in your lap and is always content to be by your side,” Dunn remarked.

While Gloria is yet to be made available for adoption, she has already attracted multiple adoption inquiries.

Once this wonderful pup fully recovers, she will eagerly seek a family ready to shower her with the love she so richly deserves.
