Heartbroken Woman Discovers Abandoned Dog Left Tied to a Fence with Just a Blanket and Some Food

Date:

No pup should ever endure the pain of being left alone. The overwhelming fear of abandonment can be unimaginable, and we can only wish that the emotional scars will not linger for a lifetime.

When Mia was abandoned under the cover of night in Newark, New Jersey, she was utterly confused. She found herself tied to a fence with just a small blanket, minimal food, and some water.

Then came the heartache!

Her owner was gone, leaving her in the darkness, yearning for someone to return. Sadly, that moment never arrived!

Rescued Just in Time

Thanks to compassionate individuals who spotted Mia alone in the dark, help soon arrived. Yasmin, a dedicated volunteer from Jersey Pits Rescue, rushed to the scene and felt an immediate wave of heartbreak.

“I received a call about a pitbull left behind. They left her here with just a blanket, food, and water,” Yasmin shared with The Dodo.

The fortunate news was that this sweet Pittie girl was so warm-hearted that she instantly connected with Yasmin. She began to wag her tail and flashed her rescuer the cutest smile. It was as though she already sensed that everything would be alright – and she was right!

Mia Was a Sweetheart from the Start

Since it was the middle of the night, Yasmin had already set up a blanket and a pillow. She chose to spend the night with Mia in her car, unsure of how her other dogs might react.

The two passed the night bonding over some tasty treats that Mia absolutely loved! The following morning, she received a flea treatment and was introduced to her temporary home – Yasmin’s residence.

“Mia is the most loving, precious little soul we’ve ever encountered. It’s astounding how a dog that was abandoned like this can still radiate such resilience and affection,” the rescue organization expressed in a Facebook post.

Mia quickly adapted to her new surroundings. It was clear that she had been a pet before because she displayed excellent manners and remarkable social skills.

“She is very low maintenance and simply enjoys being around her humans. She walks well on a leash, takes treats gently, and absolutely adores children! Mia is comfortable in her crate and knows to go outside for her bathroom needs,” her rescue organization noted.

She showered everyone with affection and had no issues with Yasmin’s cat or any other animals. Clearly, she was a lover! And boy, did she express her fondness for kids!

All Mia ever craved was attention – and now, she receives an abundance of it!

In Love with Her New Dad

Just a few days into her new life, Mia received an incredible surprise! Her rescue found her the perfect foster dad, David, who was eager to meet his new girl.

From the moment they met, Mia sprinted towards him and melted into his embrace. It was love at first sight – and she knew David was the one!

She clung to him every second of the day, and although she loved the rest of the family, nobody compared to her dad.

Ultimately, she became the ideal foster fail. David and his family couldn’t bear to think of spending even a day apart from Mia, so they decided to keep her forever.

This affectionate girl now enjoys a life filled with love and adventure with her beloved humans.
And the best part – she will never have to fear abandonment again! Her days of hardship are long gone. From this point forward, only happiness awaits her!
