After a distress call regarding a little puppy wandering near a trash heap, a team of rescuers quickly gathered their gear and set off to find the little furball.
Upon arrival, the first thing the rescuers felt was the biting cold. Despite their warm attire, they were shivering and couldn’t help but think of how much worse it must be for the innocent puppy!
After searching for some time, they finally spotted her in a heap of garbage, desperately searching for something to satisfy her hunger.
You Are Safe Now, Sweet Girl
Fortunately, the sweet pup was not too frightened of her rescuers, making her capture quite easy. They noticed her red, swollen paws, which hindered her movement.
As they lovingly picked her up, they could feel her trembling. Realizing how cold she was, they quickly took her to their car and wrapped her in a warm blanket. As she started to warm up, the little girl could finally relax and feel safe.
Believing there might be other furry companions hidden in the dump, the rescuers decided to look around a bit more. However, after not finding anyone else, they chose to head back and take this sweet girl to the vet.
A Fresh Start
The moment they took her under their care, the veterinarians rushed her to the emergency room for all necessary examinations.
Once the results were in, they discovered that she was severely anemic and dehydrated. Sadly, she also faced other health conditions requiring immediate intervention.
The puppy underwent a crucial blood transfusion. Initially, she seemed distressed, not quite understanding the situation, but as time passed, she began to calm down. Perhaps she realized there was no need for fear anymore.
As the days passed, the puppy did not exhibit any signs of improvement. She remained extremely fatigued, and her paws were still swollen.
However, her medical team was determined not to give up on her.
They surrounded her with affection and care, constantly reassuring her of her bravery and beauty. Thanks to their unwavering dedication, after twenty days post-rescue, the puppy began to show signs of recovery.
Doctors later concluded that her swollen paws were likely a result of the numerous fleas and ticks infesting her small body.
However, none of that mattered anymore. What was important was that she was finally healthy and ready for a fresh start.
When she left the hospital, her rescuers named her Luna and took her to a nurturing shelter where she could embrace her puppyhood once again.
Surrounded by loving humans and many furry siblings, she found joy in every moment.
