With numerous successful rescues behind them, the team at Hope For Paws, a dedicated animal rescue organization located in Los Angeles, California, always makes sure to pack a delicious cheeseburger whenever they head out on a mission.
A tasty snack is a crucial item in every rescuer’s toolkit, as it not only satisfies the hungry dog but also fosters trust between the animal and the rescuer.
When the team received a call about a stray puppy in need of help, they immediately knew that their first stop would be a nearby fast food restaurant!
Rescue Mission
With the cheeseburger in tow, the rescuers rushed to the site, determined to return with the pup safely by their side.
Fortunately, a kindhearted neighbor was able to entice the little puppy into their home, which made the rescue a breezy affair.
Once the rescuers arrived, they offered the hungry pup some delectable food, causing him to scamper right toward them!
After a few bites, one of the rescuers was able to approach him closely and give him some gentle pets.
This interaction helped the puppy feel at ease with his new humans, enabling them to secure a leash around his head and lead him to the car.
New Life
Upon arriving at the shelter, the pup, now affectionately named Aristotle, was greeted with warm welcomes and plenty of cuddles.
Having spent an extended time roaming the streets, Aristotle’s fur had become long and matted.
This prompted the shelter staff to give this sweet boy a much-deserved grooming session, during which they discovered foxtails stuck in his fur.
After a thorough cleaning, he underwent a medical check-up, revealing he was in excellent health.
With this good news, the shelter quickly found him a caring foster home where he could unwind and feel secure.
The time spent with his foster family helped Aristotle thrive.
Realizing how wonderful and sweet he was, his foster family realized they couldn’t bear to part with him, leading to their decision to adopt him!
Now, Aristotle is enjoying the life every dog dreams of – surrounded by love, warmth, and endless affection!
Be Careful About Foxtails
Foxtails are grasses that possess spikelets or clusters of seeds which tend to drop to the ground, making it easy for our furry companions to step on or for the seeds to get lodged in their bodies.
If these seeds manage to enter your dog’s system, they can lead to severe infections and other health issues since they are not easily broken down by a dog’s body.
Although they primarily grow in the western region of the U.S., they can also be found in other states. So during your next hike with your dog, be vigilant for foxtails!
