A fragile two-week-old puppy was found sobbing on the side of a road, having been cruelly taken from her mother and left to fend for herself. Injured and unable to crawl in search of her mom, the little pup was nearing the point of no return. Yet, she clung to hope, crying as loudly as she could, wishing for someone to hear her. Fighting To Save A Life
Fortunately, the puppy, later named Dumpling, was rescued and taken to Bosley’s Place in Smyrna, Georgia, a sanctuary for homeless and neonatal puppies. The staff was heartbroken to hear her desperate whimpers and saw that Dumpling was in excruciating pain, her body covered in puncture wounds as she fought to survive. Rushed to the vet for examination, it was revealed that she suffered from broken ribs and subcutaneous emphysema resulting from her injuries.
Administered antibiotics and pain relief, Dumpling was too weak to nurse, so the caregivers began tube-feeding her in the nursery, ensuring she received the best care possible. They hoped she would pull through, stating in a Facebook post, “All we can do from this point forward is provide her with the care that she needs and pray that she is strong enough to overcome the obstacles that she is faced with.”
Although Dumpling battled a fever for a few hours, she began to show signs of improvement the following morning, proving her resilience. By day three, she gathered enough strength to start nursing on her own. The staff lavished her with cuddles, letting her know she was no longer alone, and as time passed, her wounds began to heal.
The veterinarians were confident that Dumpling’s injuries were the result of an attack by a predatory bird. Yet, her determination to survive shone through as she reclaimed her health. Days turned into weeks, and her ribs healed remarkably, showcasing her fighting spirit.
Dumpling Recovers And Finds Her Happiness
As Dumpling’s health continued to thrive, her charming personality emerged. She began to play with another rescue puppy named Lentil, who also resided in the nursery. Once fully recovered, Dumpling was put up for adoption, and it didn’t take long for her to find her perfect match.
She was thrilled to meet her forever family, who instantly fell in love with her, providing the affectionate environment she needed. Now, Dumpling shares her adventures through her own Instagram account.
