A fragile two-week-old puppy sobbed on the side of the road, having been cruelly taken from her mother. Left alone, she faced danger and sustained injuries that left her unable to crawl and search for her mom. Nearing the point of no return, the little furball cried out, hoping someone would hear her. Would anyone come to her rescue before it was too late?
Fighting To Save A Life
Fortunately, the puppy was discovered and taken to Bosley’s Place, a rescue and nursery for homeless neonatal puppies in Smyrna, Georgia. The staff was heartbroken hearing her desperate whimpers and could see the pain she was in; her body covered in puncture wounds and barely holding on. Uncertain of what had happened, they rushed her for a veterinary examination.
Dumpling, as she was later named, was in terrible shape, suffering from broken ribs and subcutaneous emphysema due to her injuries. She received antibiotics and pain relief, and because she was too weak to nurse, the staff began tube-feeding her.
After moving to the nursery, her caregivers monitored her closely, providing her with the best possible care in hopes of her recovery. “All we can do from this point forward is provide her with the care that she needs and pray that she is strong enough to overcome the obstacles that she is faced with,” Bosley’s Place shared in a Facebook post.
After battling a fever for a few hours, Dumpling felt better the following morning and began to show her fighting spirit. By day three, she had gathered enough strength to start nursing on her own.
The staff showered her with love, reassuring her that she was no longer alone. Gradually, Dumpling’s wounds began to heal, and the veterinary team suspected her injuries might have resulted from an encounter with a predatory bird.
Dumpling Recovers And Finds Her Happiness
Over time, Dumpling’s health continued to improve, with her ribs healing remarkably. The staff was amazed by her rapid recovery and charming personality; she began playing and cuddling with another rescue puppy named Lentil. Once she regained her strength, Dumpling was put up for adoption and quickly found her forever home.
Dumpling was overjoyed to meet her forever family, who were completely captivated by her. They provided her with the love she desperately needed. Today, she shares her adventures on her own Instagram account.
Dumpling enjoys quality time with her sister, Hazelnut Abbey, also adopted from the same Smyrna rescue. From being an abandoned, injured puppy with a rough start, Dumpling has transformed into a stunning and happy dog. Her journey is truly heartwarming!
