When Avenue was rescued by the S.O.A.R. Initiative in Indiana, no one could comprehend the severity of his condition until they saw him up close. The pup endured unimaginable suffering due to a neglectful owner who did not want him. Thankfully, local law enforcement found him on the streets and promptly contacted the rescuers for assistance—this was the break Avenue desperately needed. At just four to six months old, Avenue appeared emaciated and too weak to even exit the vehicle independently.
Realizing the urgency of Avenue’s situation, the rescuers quickly sprang into action. They established a strict feeding schedule, ensuring Avenue was fed every three to four hours, even if it meant sacrificing their sleep. This plan aimed to restore his health and help him regain normal weight. Over time, Avenue attempted to navigate the stairs independently, but his rescuers quickly intervened to assist him.

As time passed, after five months of dedicated care, Avenue made a remarkable recovery, gaining weight from 58 to 94 pounds. Everyone at the shelter felt immense relief and joy at his dramatic improvement, leading to more good news: Avenue was placed on an adoption list, generating several applications. Ultimately, the rescuers were thrilled to connect Avenue with a loving family in Indiana.
