You never know when a big surprise is about to unfold before you… and when it does, how will you respond? One morning in Atlanta, Georgia, Zoë stepped onto her front porch, where she stumbled upon the biggest furry surprise curled up on their bench. Shocked by the sight of a severely emaciated stray dog trying to hide his face with his tail to blend into the surroundings, she instinctively knew she needed to help.
How Did He Get There
In a TikTok video that went viral, Zoë shared the dog’s traumatic condition, stating, “Woke up to a stray dog sleeping on our front porch.” The poor dog shivered in fear until he realized Zoë was there to help.
The comments on her video were flooded with heartfelt reactions. One user remarked, “He’s trying to make himself invisible. He just wanted a safe spot to sleep,” while another wished him “years of happiness.” After checking for a microchip, Zoë discovered that despite a collar, there was no identifying information, a clear sign of abandonment.
In a stroke of luck, a neighbor volunteered to temporarily foster Capital. However, when Zoë checked the next day, she learned that this neighbor had surrendered him to a high-euthanasia animal shelter, citing his reactivity to their other dogs as the reason. “He was taken to the Fulton County animal shelter by the person who signed up to foster him, without telling me,” Zoë said sadly.
Capital Needs Help
Since Capital’s surrender, Zoë has been working tirelessly to find him a permanent, loving home. Although she cannot adopt him herself, she has been pleading on her TikTok account for someone to step up and help. Thankfully, a kind donor has already covered his adoption fees. “He is in Atlanta and needs a home if anyone is able to help. His adoption fees have been paid,” Zoë wrote.
According to his finder, despite the trauma he’s endured, this beautiful pup is friendly and shows no aggression toward people. He absolutely deserves a chance at a loving home!
