From Euthanasia to a Loving Home: The Journey of the Dog Everyone Overlooked

Date:

Bubba has always been a unique boy – he just needed a bit of encouragement!

When this black-and-white pup first appeared on an unexpected porch, he was incredibly bewildered. Yet deep down, he longed for one thing – a home and a family to care for him!

Fortunately, he found that exactly when he needed it!

From Stray To A Forever Home

Dan and Norma discovered Bubba’s story while he was already at the shelter. Before arriving there, he spent his days homeless, continually searching for a safe haven… or at least a place to call home!

One day, he showed up on a random porch, bearing scars all over his body, likely from having been in fights. Regrettably, the homeowner had other dogs and couldn’t take Bubba in, leading him to find his way to a shelter.

“He was found as a stray. Apparently, what happened was the girl that had dogs, he was like at her front door, and she said he was actually friendly, but she had dogs and she couldn’t take care of another dog,” Norma shared with GeoBeats Animals.

Despite his friendly demeanor towards people, Bubba struggled to find a forever home. He was just days away from being euthanized when Dan and Norma came to his rescue. That day marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life!

Bubba traveled from California to Seattle to meet his new family. During the initial weeks, he was extremely insecure and unsure of how to behave as a family pet. He would just freeze, unfamiliar with toys or balls.

Struggling to manage stairs was another challenge he faced, likely a result of being confined in a crate previously.

“He was probably kept in a crate a lot, so he had really bad knees as well. He kind of walks like he’s older than he is. They claimed he was five, but we can’t say for sure,” says Norma.

But Dan and Norma knew exactly how to support him.

Their two other dogs, Shanti and Zoe, were there to assist Bubba! The three companions took time to get to know one another, and while it seemed challenging at the start, they ultimately formed a bond.

“Bubba is tapping into his playful side! He has been observing Zoey and Shanti play. He’s discovering that they are having fun, not fighting,” his paw parents shared on Instagram.

Living The Best Life

Months later, Bubba fully embraced his new family in Seattle, shedding his shyness and actively joining in on playtime with his siblings.

He even began to reveal his quirky traits, like his unique lying positions and his undeniable love for snacks (he’s willing to go to great lengths to obtain them).
