Florida Rescuers Heartbroken to Discover Sweet Pup Tied to a Tree with a Tragic Note

Date:

We are facing difficult times, forcing many individuals to make hard choices. Unfortunately, this has led to an increasing number of pets being left in shelters or abandoned outside.

Animal shelters are overwhelmed with pets that have been surrendered or neglected. While some of this is due to the prevailing uncertainty, a significant factor is the loss of jobs or the worry of losing employment.

It’s heart-wrenching to realize that some people feel they can no longer care for their pets. A story I want to share exemplifies this painful dilemma.

A man living in Orlando, Florida, faced dire financial challenges and arrived at a moment when he could no longer support his cherished pit bull, Lincoln.

In a moment of desperation, he opted to tie Lincoln to his neighbor’s tree under the cover of darkness.

Along with this devastating act, he left a note detailing his plight and pleading with the neighbor to care for his beloved pet:

“I am leaving to California to be with my mother and brother during this pandemic. Please take care of Lincoln or find him a good home. I trust you with my baby. I’m sorry.”

Regrettably, the neighbor wasn’t able to take Lincoln in, but fortunately, a local rescue group known as The Pittie Party of Central Florida (TPPCF) stepped in to help.

A volunteer named Mayson Jones offered to take Lincoln home, providing him with affection and plenty of playtime. Despite missing his owner, Lincoln retained his cheerful demeanor and wagging tail.

Fortunately, this distressing story has a positive outcome. A kind woman named Melanie Anderson saw Lincoln’s plight and chose to foster him until he finds a forever home. He now enjoys boat rides and sunny naps with his loving foster family.

Sadly, Lincoln’s experience is all too typical. Shelters are struggling, dealing with an influx of pets being abandoned or relinquished.

TPPCF and various other rescue organizations are reaching out for help. They are in search of foster families willing to open their hearts and homes to animals in need.

The rescue group will supply everything required for the care of the dog, covering all expenses. As they posted on Facebook:

“There is no way we would ever be able to do what we do without the dedication and commitment from foster families. These individuals are the true heroes in rescue!”

By fostering a dog, you’re not just offering a safe haven for an animal in need; you’re also helping shelters create space for more dogs that require assistance. You might even find that you fall in love and decide to give a dog a forever home!
