In a video shared by the Fort Walton Beach Police Department on social media, we witness the touching moment when K9 Bane, about to retire, enjoys a bowl of whipped cream.
This delightful gesture expresses gratitude for his years of dedicated service.
His handler, Detective Trujillo, dispenses the whipped cream into a silver dish while activating his radio for an emotional farewell.
Like a true professional, K9 Bane sat next to his partner of five years, eagerly awaiting his treat.
“This is the reason I’m doing this at the end of the shift because he’ll blow up the back of my car,” Officer Trujillo remarked at the start of the video.
Once the delectable treat was ready, K9 Bane was told to sit while Detective Trujillo activated his radio, stating, “414, show Bane 3-7.”
“Just want to thank you. I’ll miss you. You’ve been a great release dog, and you got to be my friend. Thank you for your service,” came over the radio in his final send-off.
As his coworkers bid him farewell, K9 Bane savored his treat, licking it up happily.
