Comfort was just three months old when her heartless family abandoned her, leaving her to face the world alone.
A Good Samaritan witnessed this tragic event and brought the adorable puppy to a shelter in Los Angeles, California. Feeling betrayed by those she trusted, Comfort began shaking in the corner of her kennel.
The Most Difficult Period Of Her Life
When Comfort arrived at the shelter, she was malnourished and dehydrated, refusing to eat and infested with fleas. She trembled in fear, avoiding eye contact with the staff and shying away from any attempt to touch her. It was heartbreaking for the shelter staff and volunteers to witness such terror in a young pup.
Ashley Pittman, a dedicated volunteer at both the Los Angeles shelter and A Purposeful Rescue, wanted to help Comfort find a foster home. She shared a video of the frightened dog on her Instagram account. The video quickly went viral when reposted on TikTok.
One viewer, a foster, reached out to Pittman and A Purposeful Rescue, expressing her desire to foster Comfort, stating she was on her way to the shelter to pick her up. Comfort was then placed in a loving foster home, where her foster mom was determined to help her overcome her fears and become the joyful dog she was meant to be.
A Loving Foster Home
Initially, Comfort felt anxious in her new surroundings, hiding under a bed and whimpering during her first few days. But her foster mom provided excellent care and showered her with love, helping Comfort to begin relaxing and feeling better. Her once fearful eyes are now filled with hope, and her foster mom eagerly anticipates the moment her personality truly blossoms.
Once Comfort fully relaxes and settles into her foster home, she will begin the search for her forever family. We hope that this adorable pup finds loving parents soon who truly deserve her, and that they will cherish and adore her forever.
