Tinker recently faced that heartbreak when her owners surrendered her to a shelter in Florida. Alone within the four walls of her kennel, she instantly shut down and lost all hope.
A Sight That Cracks Even The Hardest Heart
Dali, an animal rescuer from South Florida known for sharing heart-wrenching dog stories on her TikTok account, left the entire internet in tears with Tinker’s video. She showcased Tinker in a small kennel, facing the wall and remaining in the same position for hours.
“This happens to dogs after they’ve been in the shelter for a really long time. Tinker is giving up hope that anyone will adopt her. She sits facing the wall for hours,” Dali wrote.
Tinker lost her beloved family and now faced life alone, with no hope of finding a new home. She had been overlooked in the shelter after being labeled aggressive by those who met her. However, Tinker is far from being a bad dog; she is incredibly sweet and loves to be cuddled, but despises being picked up.
This fear stems from her trauma, leading others to misunderstand her reactions as aggression.

Tinker is a really sweet little girl who just wants to be cuddled but when she meets strangers, she doesn’t like to get picked up because it scares her and that’s the only thing that’s stopping her from getting a home because people assume she is aggressive when she is not.
Despite these challenges, Saving Sage Animal Rescue, located in Lauderhill, Florida, is dedicated to making Tinker and other dogs feel welcomed, though the task can be difficult at times.
Tinker remained inconsolable in her kennel, waiting for a change.

Little by little, Tinker came out of her shell. With the right approach and some TLC, she showcased her true nature, confirming that she is indeed nothing but a lovebug. “Tinker is a gentle spirit, a true couch potato who loves to relax and enjoys short strolls outside,” SSAR shared on Facebook.
Dali’s video shocked thousands, sparking a debate on TikTok about how such a lovable dog could go unnoticed. Viewers expressed a strong desire to adopt Tinker, with messages flooding in like, “Where are you located? Please send information. I would love to adopt her,” and, “I’ll take her. Where is she?”
Thanks to the video going viral, Tinker’s circumstances drastically changed. Within days, a family reached out to SSAR, eager to meet her.
