Tracy, a pet owner living in Western Washington, often experiences surprise visits at her home.
With two cats and a dog named Nelson, unexpected company is not new for her. However, one particular morning brought a shocking turn of events.
At 5:30 a.m., Nelson nudged her to go outside, and upon his return, Tracy was astonished to discover he had a companion…
Unexpected Visitor

Nelson happily wagged his tail on the porch, treating the situation as perfectly normal—after all, it was just the early hours of the morning!
As he waited for Tracy to let him back inside, he remained blissfully unaware that his surprise guest was about to give her quite a fright!

As Tracy ushered Nelson indoors, she caught a glimpse of two eerie, glowing eyes peering at her from the porch. Completely taken aback and unprepared for another early morning visitor, she was momentarily stunned.
It dawned on her that it was Dozer, the neighbor’s dog!

“Nelson woke me up at 5:30 AM to go out, and guess who decided to follow him home?” Tracy remarked in the video.
Dozer is a familiar presence who occasionally rings the doorbell, asking to be let inside. Tracy and Dozer have a long history, and typically, his visits aren’t surprising, yet this time, he managed to catch his friend off guard.
“He sends chills down my spine, yet I adore him dearly. Dozer got his treat, a cuddle, and then we went back to bed,” she added.
You Never Know When It’s ‘Dozer Time’

The unexpected visits began three years ago when Dozer made his debut. Tracy was busy in the garage when she spotted him, tail wagging, waiting to greet her.
Offering him a tasty treat and a cuddle, Dozer soon went on his way.
The rest is, as they say, history!
Since that first encounter, Dozer has been a frequent guest at Tracy’s home, and he sticks around for more than just a snack.

Dozer has comfortably integrated with the entire family, including Nelson and the cats. He typically comes inside after Tracy grants him access, gets a treat, a cuddle, and then finds a cozy spot to nap.
At times, he even chooses to stay the night, sharing quality time with everyone. After each stay, however, Dozer requests to be let out and heads back to his own family.
According to Tracy, he travels approximately half a mile to reach her home, and his real owners are aware of his escapades. While communication between them is limited, they are quite fine with Dozer having a “second family,” especially since they know how much he is cherished.

“He travels about half a mile through farms and woods,” Tracy describes in another video.
It’s now safe to say that Dozer has become a core member of Tracy’s family in Washington. Though he has owners who cherish him, he also finds a sense of belonging in Tracy’s home. To say that he is loved there is an understatement!
Dozer even has his very own TikTok account where Tracy shares updates about his visits.
Tracy and her family adore Dozer, and they hope his little “in-between homes” journey is a joyful experience for him.
“I truly believe that Dozer is special and he enjoys his life shuttling between homes,” Tracy concludes.
