A Heartbreaking Story
Nova is a very special dog. Abandoned on the road with a ‘free’ sign on her kennel, she had hoped for a normal life but faced a tragic fate. It is heartbreaking that someone could do such a thing, especially on a busy highway. Fortunately, one kind person couldn’t ignore her plight and posted about her online, hoping for the intervention of a rescue organization.
Madison Nygard, a volunteer with the organization Pawfect Match Rescue in North Carolina, responded to the plea. She mentioned to People: “I was on my way. I had seen it a couple of minutes after it was posted. I got to Nova before the post hit the hour mark.” Upon arrival, she was appalled to find the sign on the kennel and couldn’t comprehend the cruelty behind it.
Nova’s New Chapter
After a brief discussion with the animal control officers present, Nygard made the decision to rescue Nova and took her to a local veterinarian clinic for a check-up and any necessary treatment. She stated, “I knew that at least if I brought her into the house, she would have food in her belly, and I could monitor her health.” In Nygard’s foster care, Nova finally had the opportunity to relax and express her gratitude for being safe.
Nova quickly became part of the household, showing her affectionate side and connecting with everyone around her. Nygard was thrilled to witness her recovery after such adversity, but she still needed to find a permanent home for her. While she discovered several potential adopters, the final decision would take time. Until then, Nova continues to thrive in a loving home filled with warmth, treats, toys, and genuine care.
