Imagine the confusion and fear that Chico, a dog, felt after his owner abandoned him by throwing him out of a car on a busy road in Signal Hill, California. Heartbroken and desperate, he chased the vehicle for miles, hoping for a chance to get back inside, unaware his owner had no intention of returning.
While witnessing this heartbreaking scene, a bystander recorded a video of poor Chico and shared it on Instagram, prompting widespread concern for his safety. Eventually, a kind woman named Destiny stumbled upon the footage and was immediately compelled to help the lost pup.
Chico’s Heroes
Desperate and lost, Chico roamed the bustling streets, feeling terrified and heartbroken at his owner’s betrayal. Destiny, unable to find him at the location from the video, made an appeal on her Instagram in hopes that someone might know where to find him.
Fortunately, a Good Samaritan provided Destiny with Chico’s location. Although she had to work, her boyfriend Kevin took it upon himself to search for the frightened pup. After an hour of searching, Kevin finally found him, but Chico, overwhelmed with fear, barked at him, unsure whether he could trust this stranger.
Determined to not give up on Chico, Kevin offered him food and spent hours trying to build trust with the frightened pup. Eventually, Chico began to understand that Kevin was there to help him, and he felt a sense of safety for the first time in a while.
The Pooch Is Finally Safe
Destiny felt immense relief when she finally met up with Kevin and saw Chico sitting safely next to him. They promised Chico that he would never face abandonment again. The couple arranged for a temporary foster home for him, where he spent the night and began to heal.
The rescue team from Bella’s Animal Rescue eagerly took Chico under their care. Soon after, he relocated to a new foster home with Brooklyn, who lavished him with affection, helping him overcome the pain of his past betrayal.
Through Brooklyn’s love and care, Chico began to heal from his traumas, slowly forgetting the cruelty of his past owner. While he is enjoying time with his foster mom, the loyal pup yearns for a forever home where he will be cherished. I truly believe that soon, Chico will find the loving human he deserves.
