When looking to adopt a dog, many aspects come into consideration for most individuals. Factors such as age, breed, size, and the potential for providing a good life are pivotal.
However, for some, these factors become irrelevant, which can lead to unfortunate situations. We’ve all likely seen instances where individuals adopt dogs primarily for protection, only to mistreat them.
This neglect often causes the dog to flee or be abandoned by owners who lose interest.
Such was the case with this adorable pup, who was cruelly abandoned by his owner simply for ‘chasing chickens,’ which the owner found bothersome.
Fortunately, fate had a new path in store for this dog upon meeting someone exceptionally kind.
A Significant Change
After being abandoned, the gentle dog wandered through the town, desperately seeking assistance.
With no one to care for him, he faced numerous challenges, primarily the struggle to find food.
He began to lose weight rapidly. At one point, he was so emaciated that his bones were visible. It was heartbreaking to witness.
Just as hope was fading, a compassionate rescuer appeared and realized that he was in dire need of help.
She provided him with food, and the hungry pup devoured it almost immediately. His rescuer recognized that he could probably consume more, but she chose not to overfeed him to prevent vomiting.
After finishing his meal, the rescuer offered him some gentle pets and considered inquiring around to locate his owner.
The neighbor who alerted her to the dog pointed her in the direction of the owner’s home, where she confronted the man.
When she questioned him about his decision to abandon the dog, he said it was because the dog was too playful and chased his chickens.
This was truly unfortunate because dogs are naturally spirited during their youth, and there’s absolutely no justification for treating them in such a manner.

Eventually, she took the dog to a veterinarian clinic for a thorough check-up. The vets informed the rescuer that the puppy was around eight months old and weighed merely five kilograms.
Additionally, he was dehydrated and anemic. While this was disheartening news, everyone was determined to ensure his recovery.
Throughout his examination, the rescuer observed that he remained calm and obedient, which prompted her to question the owner’s claims about his behavior.
In the subsequent stage of treatment, the vets administered deworming and vaccinations, marking a positive shift in his condition.
However, unexpectedly, the owner reached out, demanding the return of his dog. He stated that if the rescuers wished to keep him, they would need to pay a fine.
The rescuers stood firm and refused to surrender him. They contacted the authorities and presented the case to argue that the owner was unfit and abusive.
The case ultimately reached a resolution. With the dog now safe in the hands of his rescuer, he made an incredible recovery over the course of three months.
He regained all his weight and is much happier now. The pup is almost unrecognizable at this point.
The rescuer successfully found a loving family for him, and he is currently enjoying life to the fullest with someone who genuinely cares for him.
