From the moment we bring dogs into our lives, we vow to love and care for them endlessly. Surrounded by our affection, these wonderful companions blossom into confident and joyful dogs. It pains me to see countless owners abandoning their loyal pets in perilous locations, leaving them to wonder what went wrong.
Left behind, these faithful pups wait, believing their families will return. Such was the case with Ribbles, a sweet dog who believed her owners would come back after they left her at a railway. Despite the peril, she continued to wait, risking her life for a glimpse of the faces she loved so dearly.
Believing Her Family Didn’t Abandon Her

Ribbles was left at a railway in Southern California, believing her family would return to take her home. Despite the daily dangers, including fast-moving trains, she clung to her hope of reuniting with her loved ones. Days passed, and although her faith waned, she remained steadfast in her wait.
Fortunately, a compassionate woman spotted Ribbles as she narrowly avoided a train, and immediately contacted Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy, to report the urgent situation.
Ribbles’ Rescue Mission

Hall immediately rushed to the railway and found Ribbles on the tracks, witnessing her dart into a small space in the fence to escape oncoming trains. After learning from dealership staff that they were feeding and sheltering Ribbles daily, Hall set a humane trap, hoping to lure the sweet dog in.
Recognizing Ribbles’ fear of the trap with Hall present, she chose to give the pup space and returned the next morning. Heartbroken at first glance of something on the tracks, Hall sighed in relief to find it was only coyotes. In a moment of joy, she checked the trap and was ecstatic to find Ribbles safely inside.

Hall brought Ribbles to Camino Pet Hospital in Irvine, California, where she learned that Ribbles had a severe ear infection along with a swollen elbow and leg. It pained Hall to realize how much suffering Ribbles endured while waiting alone at the railway.
Hall was deeply moved by Ribbles’ courage; despite the dangers posed by coyotes and trains, Ribbles survived due to the strong bond of loyalty and love for her family.
Finding Her Place Under The Sun

After her full recovery, the loyal dog with angelic eyes found her forever home. Her new family fell head-over-heels for her, realizing that she was meant to be theirs. Ribbles has since been renamed Lucy and is now living happily in Joshua Tree, surrounded by the endless love of her family. She enjoys hiking adventures with her dog sister, embracing her new life.

We are overjoyed to see Lucy thriving under the warm embrace of her new family. However, the heartbreaking reality is that many dogs are still left vulnerable or abandoned. If you encounter a stray dog, please reach out to your local shelter or rescue organization. Let’s work together to save these innocent lives and show them they are not alone.
