When “dog” is the first word you speak in your life, it indicates a truly special bond with man’s best friend. Violet, a little girl from a family of dog lovers, made that declaration first.
As an infant, she developed an unbreakable bond with Bailey, her grandparents’ dog. Violet was enchanted by him, trailing him everywhere and loving to play, but she also had a strong desire to hug him tightly.
Sadly, the onset of her health issues meant that she couldn’t get close to her treasured Bailey or most dogs, leaving her heart yearning for the furry companionship she craved.
However, her father, Matt, was unwilling to let his daughter’s dreams go unfulfilled.
Mission (Im)Pawssible
Unfortunately, Violet’s plight meant that while her heart was set on dogs, her body developed an allergy to them. This was a burden she had carried since her infancy.
Yet, her father, Matt, was resolute in his mission to help Violet find her furry soulmate. He understood that it wouldn’t be simple, but he was confident there was a way forward.
“Fortunately, certain purebred dogs don’t typically trigger allergies, and she has no problem being around them,” Matt shared with The Dodo.
Since Matt and his family, including Violet, recognized the significance of animal rescues, they chose the more challenging path and opted not to acquire a dog from a breeder.
Matt sprang into action, reaching out to multiple rescue organizations nationwide. Unfortunately, each time he mentioned a need for a hypoallergenic dog, he received a negative response.
That changed when he contacted the team at Cassie’s Place. They couldn’t guarantee anything immediately, but they offered him hope.
After waiting patiently, two weeks later, their representative, Michelle, delivered incredible news: “I think I’ve got some good news for you all! I believe I have found a girl for you.”
Matt was so thrilled that he hastily informed Violet and her sister Maisie that a new member of the family was on her way.
Describing their emotions was difficult, especially for Violet, who had been anxiously awaiting this moment.
A Dream Come True
Shortly after receiving the joyful news, Matt traveled from New York City to Texas to retrieve their new dog. Upon arrival, he met a darling little Maltese named Chloe.
This petite rescue dog, estimated to be two to three years old, had previously been in a foster home before being matched with her forever family. Love was immediate when Matt arrived; Chloe leaped into his arms, showering him with affectionate kisses.
During the journey home, she clung to his lap, forming a quick bond. However, the most memorable moment awaited them as Violet and her sister eagerly anticipated their joyful reunion.
Upon their arrival in New York City, it was a challenge to determine who was more thrilled – Chloe or Violet and her sister. Yet, after a prolonged period of waiting, it was undoubtedly Violet whose heart overflowed with joy during this special moment.
From that day onward, Violet kept Chloe close, regardless of what she was engaged in at the moment. They began and ended each day side by side.
All the affection Violet had longed to give to Bailey and other dogs was now lavished on Chloe, making her the most adored pup in existence.
