In spite of warnings and pleas from various rescue organizations, an increasing number of dogs are being abandoned to survive on the streets.
The heartbreaking reality is that many of these unfortunate animals have suffered abuse or have been tied up and left behind, unable to protect themselves from the threats surrounding them.
Angel, a one-and-a-half-year-old mix of Siberian Husky and German Shepherd, faced a similar ordeal when she was left bound to a tree at Iglesia Park in Aliso Viejo, California. In her helpless state, she could not care for herself or her seven puppies.
Fortunately, rescuers from the local shelter found her just in time and sprang into action to save her and her little ones.
Rescued Just in Time
After the successful rescue operations in Aliso Viejo, California, the mother dog and her puppies were taken to the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center.
Unfortunately, there was a lack of information regarding how long this canine family had been at that location or what led to their abandonment.
While they were discovered healthy and safe, the City of Mission Viejo, CA – Local Government reported in a Facebook post that they had been left without any food, water, or shelter, indicating that their time in that place was short and confirming that the rescuers arrived in time.
However, the situation could have been dire, as many threats were present, including the coyote mating season that drew these predators into urban areas. Thankfully, nothing catastrophic occurred.
The shelter staff attempted to check for a microchip on Angel, but none was found. Fortunately, this lovely mother and her puppies appeared to be healthy, with no signs of prior mistreatment.
The team at the center expressed their admiration for this courageous mother.
“When she is petted, she shows submission by rolling over, and she loves to crawl into your lap for affection,” stated Kelly Tokarski, the public information specialist for City of Mission Viejo, according to the Mission Viejo website. “In short, Angel is an exceptional dog. She simply needs a loving forever home.”
Before Angel and her puppies could embark on a fresh start, they underwent cleaning and vaccination procedures. Additionally, the dedicated teams from the Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) equipped them with necessary medical supplies.
The collective goodwill of many individuals played a crucial role in guiding this canine family toward a brighter future.
Fresh Starts
The puppies faced no obstacles in finding their forever homes, rapidly securing loving families. However, the young mother, Angel, had to wait a bit longer for her chance.
In the end, the power of social media once again proved invaluable, facilitating the most positive outcomes. This was indeed the case this time.
“Just one day after Angel’s story aired on KNBC Channel 4 and gained viral attention through the City’s social media, the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center saw a remarkable uptick in adoption inquiries for this lovely Siberian Husky-German Shepherd mix,” shared the City of Mission Viejo, CA – Local Government in a recent Facebook post.
Ultimately, one wonderful family from Murrieta, California, had the privilege of welcoming Angel into their family. After experiencing the loss of multiple pets, her arrival provided solace to their grieving hearts.
In the end, every member of this canine family found their happy conclusion. This narrative reinforces the idea that a few compassionate acts from kind-hearted individuals can profoundly alter someone’s path in life.
Thanks to this, it became a genuine happily ever after.
