Upon returning home from their trip, most people probably don’t anticipate encountering any unexpected guests in their backyard.
When Kassidy M. and her partner came back home from their vacation on a Sunday night, they were so worn out that they went straight to bed.
However, the next morning, they stepped outside and realized they had completely overlooked something significant.
An Unexpected Visitor
The couple was surprised to find a small puppy nestled in the corner of their yard.
“We woke up that Monday after our vacation, and when we were about to head out, he was sitting there silently in the corner of the yard,” Kassidy shared with The Dodo.
They were clueless as to his origins and sought information from their neighbors. However, no one seemed to have any clue about the little pup, prompting the couple to take action and help him.
“He quickly won our hearts. We are total dog lovers and immediately showered him with affection, which he gladly received. We provided him with comfy dog beds and blankets, and he just settled right in,” Kassidy recounted.
Sadly, the puppy was not in optimal health, but that was about to change soon.
A New Beginning
Now named Mr. Big Baby for his sweet demeanor, the little guy was covered in cuts and scars, leading his new owners to suspect he had been involved in dog fighting. Additionally, it became clear to them that he was not feeling well during his early days with them.
Thus, they decided to take him to the veterinarian.
The vet prescribed some antibiotics, hoping they would help alleviate his condition. Fortunately, they did! Once he began his treatment, he underwent a remarkable transformation and became the most cheerful dog imaginable.
“It felt like we had a completely new dog with us. He craved attention, wanted to stay right by our side, and he barked for the first time! We assumed he was mute until the fifth day we had him. He played with his toys and frolicked outside with us, tail wagging non-stop, showering us with licks and kisses,” Kassidy expressed.
Once Mr. Big discovered the joy of love, he became eager to explore life to the fullest.
Recognizing how joyful and loving he truly was, the couple realized they needed to find him a suitable forever home.
After a short search, they found Mr. Big a perfect match for a forever home.
Fast forward to now, and Mr. Big is living his best life. He enjoys endless playdates at his new home while constantly exploring his surroundings.
As for his rescuers, it seemed that the impact he had on them was more profound than they had on him.
“This journey has inspired us to foster more dogs in the future to alleviate stress on rescue organizations and help these wonderful animals find loving homes. We are incredibly grateful he chose us,” Kassidy remarked.
