Few experiences rival the excitement of an almost-adopted dog. If you’ve witnessed such a heartwarming scene, you know exactly what I mean: a frantically wagging tail, joyful eyes, and a heart racing with elation, as if to say, “I’m finally going home!” Meet Prince, a charming black-and-white dog with medium-length fur and the spirit of a playful child.
Prince Just Wanted To Be Loved

Thanks to the wonderful efforts of PawSafe, Prince was rescued promptly from a high-euthanasia shelter, trading his former life of hardship for a nurturing environment filled with caring individuals. When he regained his strength and was ready for a new beginning, Prince’s chance finally arrived.

A man from Connecticut fell in love with Prince and decided to adopt him on what seemed like a perfect day — filled with warm touches, hugs, and exciting new adventures. However, shortly after his adoption, tragedy struck.

What started as a beautiful new chapter turned into a nightmare. Shortly after being adopted, Prince found himself back in the shelter due to his owner’s new job demanding extensive travel. The heartbreaking reality struck — his owner was too wrapped up in his own life to consider Prince’s needs.“Sadly, his owner became too busy with his own forever to remember Prince’s forever and he’s back at the shelter,” noted PawSafe in a TikTok post.
Let’s Start All Over Again

Now, Prince must start over again. Heartbroken and bewildered, this sweet dog struggles to comprehend why he has returned to a place he had hoped to leave behind. Fortunately, he is naturally friendly and adapts quickly to new caregivers, as he is well-trained and social.
“He’s a very sweet boy, housebroken, crate trained, and very good with everyone he meets. While his photos do not do him justice, he’s kinda sleek and kinda scruffy all in one. He’s been bounced around a bit while his previous owner traveled and has adjusted wonderfully each time,” the rescue adds.
