Compassionate Woman Steps Up to Foster Pregnant Dog at the Shelter

Date:

Pit Bulls, sadly, are a breed that is often misunderstood. This misunderstanding leads to many stereotypes, the most prevalent being that these dogs are unadoptable.

Consequently, it’s uncommon to find a shelter that doesn’t have at least one Pit Bull waiting for a home. One day, a woman named Noelani became acutely aware of this during her visit to a shelter in Fresno, California.

In one of the kennels, a forlorn Pittie named Zia looked up at her with big, sad eyes, tugging at Noelani’s heartstrings.

What weighed heavily on her mind was that Zia was enduring these harsh conditions while waiting for her puppies to arrive. In that moment, Noelani resolved to take action.

And indeed, she made a positive impact…

Her Babies Brought Joy Back to Her Life

Without hesitation, Noelani contacted the shelter staff to arrange for Zia to have a safe place to give birth. She committed to fostering her.

Despite her lingering sadness and confusion, a spark of happiness flickered on Zia’s face as she was taken to her new home.

There, instead of a cold kennel, a cozy bed and a supportive family awaited her. All that was needed now was the joyous occasion of new life.

Shortly after her arrival, Zia began the nesting behavior, signaling the soon-to-be arrival of her puppies. It was a euphoric moment when four adorable puppies joined the worldtwo boys and two girls. This was a first for Noelani, who was overwhelmed with joy.

“Once she was done, oh man, she was so much more comfortable,” Noelani expressed in a video shared by The Dodo. “She truly was super relaxed.”

The puppies instantly brought immense joy to their mother.

Zorro, Zoie, Zaina, and Zeus, as their foster family affectionately named them, each displayed their own distinct personalities.

Zorro, the little brown one, was the loudest of the bunch, while Zoie, being the smallest puppy, had a gentle and shy disposition. Zoie craved the most affection, which her mom readily provided.

Zaina was the energy of the group, always eager for adventures and new experiences. Lastly, Zeus, the largest puppy, was the playful troublemaker.

What they all shared from the outset was an abundance of love.

The benefits of this attentiveness became evident during their first outing. They explored confidently and joyfully began their life’s journey. However, the best was still on the horizon.

A month later, Noelani excitedly announced: “The puppies are ready for their forever homes!” Behind the scenes, she had coordinated with their new families, eagerly waiting for the puppies at Fresno Bully Rescue.

Mike and Monica, who had recently settled into a new house with their young son, adopted Zoie. The joy on the boy’s face perfectly captured the happiness Zoie brought to their family.

Meanwhile, Amanda, a woman who had recently lost her dog, Cash, found herself in tears upon seeing Zaina, whose resemblance to her late pet was uncanny.

Both Zorro and Zeus also found their forever families, marking the beginning of exciting new chapters in their lives.

Naturally, we mustn’t overlook our leading lady’s fate. This touching story would have had a different outcome without Zia finding her special place in the world.

Lucky for her, Zia’s wait for a new home didn’t last long. A woman named Liz stumbled upon her story on Instagram, and it resonated deeply, leading her to reach out to Noelani.

After swiftly handling the logistics, it became clear that Zia would soon be welcomed into her new family. The instant Zia met her new loved ones, it was evident she would receive abundant care and affection.

Ultimately, this remarkable tale not only highlights the love for these beautiful animals but also emphasizes that despite the stereotypes, every dog deserves a chance.

When they find themselves in a loving environment, all biases dissolve like a house of cards.
