Compassionate Texas Girl Rescues Adorable Pup From Imminent Euthanasia

Date:

As a former proud dog owner, losing my pup has brought me immense heartbreak, a feeling likely familiar to anyone who has owned a dog. Although the pain feels endless, time inevitably heals all wounds. Some people may recover but opt not to adopt again, while others choose to save dogs and give them a second chance at a loving home. Regardless of one’s choice, the bond we share with our beloved pets remains unwavering.

Whitney, who experienced a similar loss recently, felt it was the right moment to help another pup in need.

When Whitney decided to foster a dog again, she turned to the euthanasia list to identify the dogs most in need of help. That’s when she discovered Glinda, whose adorable appearance instantly reminded her of Luna, her late pup. Whitney felt a strong connection and knew Glinda needed a foster home.

Upon visiting the shelter in Texas, Glinda seemed delighted to see Whitney. Although she initially showed some hesitation, she soon relaxed and let her guard down when Whitney approached.

Their warm greeting established an instant friendship. Glinda’s anxious demeanor transformed into a joyful expression, reflecting her excitement. Upon closer inspection, Whitney noted that Glinda appeared to be unwell and would likely need some medical attention before she could be fostered.

Due to overbreeding, this poor pup had endured numerous health challenges. Fortunately, Glinda now had someone who would support her throughout her recovery.

Once the necessary treatments were completed, it was finally safe for Glinda to transition into her new foster home in Texas. She radiated happiness upon arriving, eager to explore her new environment filled with exciting discoveries. Whitney focused on ensuring Glinda felt comfortable and safe, aiming for her recovery and happiness until she was ready for adoption.

Glinda appeared genuinely pleased to be cared for and loved. Whitney’s goal was to provide her with the affection and attention she deserved. Time passed quickly, and Glinda made a remarkable recovery, eventually being placed on the adoption list, waiting for her forever home. While it’s uncertain if she has found the right family yet, she is safe under the watchful care of her rescuers, and that is what truly matters.

@whitneysdogs

I met a dog this weekend on the euthanasia list that reminded me of my heart dog, Luna. Luna was the reason why I started doing rescue over a dozen years ago. Meet Glinda, a mama dog who found herself on the euthanasia list due to lack of space as well as clear medical issues in her mammary area, likely due to overbreeding. She is a medium-sized, gray-muzzled, shy, black with brown speckles kind of dog. Well, I knew immediately that she was coming to my house. She got the surgery she needed to remove multiple masses, and is now safe at home with me recovering. She tinkles when she sees me so I know we are going to have a good time here! I can’t wait to share her journey with you guys. This one is for you, Luna ❤️ Follow @whitneysdogs for more foster glow-ups!
