For homeless dogs, each day is a battle to find scraps of food and warmth as temperatures drop. This struggle is even more heart-wrenching for the little puppies who find themselves separated from their mothers, enduring hunger and harsh weather, hoping that kind humans will extend a helping hand.
Ace, a small puppy, felt icy and hungry while sitting in a store parking lot, deeply missing his mother. Alone and sorrowful, he watched the shoppers with pleading eyes, yearning for some kindness and a safe, warm place to call home.
A Little Furball Needs Help
When Deanna Tsosie received a call from a compassionate community member in the Navajo reservation about a little black puppy sleeping alone in the Ace Hardware store parking lot, her heart sank. They informed her that the puppy appeared to be around 4–5 weeks old and had been dumped there.
Upon her arrival, Tsosie found the small puppy seeking shelter from the cold next to a parked car. As she approached to greet him, he became frightened and hid behind a nearby wheel. Tsosie gently spoke to him, reassuring him of his safety, and the little furball gradually emerged from his hiding spot.
After picking up the puppy, later named Ace, Tsosie searched the area for his mother and siblings, but sadly found no trace of them. Holding Ace in her arms, she noticed his sorrowful gaze and wished he could verbally express his desire for a loving home.
Determined to find a loving home for Ace, Tsosie reached out to Az Hidden Jem Rescue in Phoenix, Arizona, who gladly accepted the little pup. They instantly fell in love with him after watching the rescue video, describing him as looking like “a little bear” who was confused.
That same day, the rescue brought Ace to the vet for a thorough examination, where they discovered he was suffering from mange and promptly initiated treatment.
Sweet Life In A Foster Home
Ace was placed with a loving foster family who provided excellent care during his recovery. Although undergoing treatment for mange, he thrived in his new environment, relishing the affection from his foster family and playing joyfully with his litter of foster siblings, including sweet kittens. Once Ace completes his healing process, he’ll be ready to find his forever home, and it’s certain that he will capture the heart of a loving family who will give him the care he deserves.
