Reflecting on my time with a dog, I recall how sociable he was, always eager to play. Now, I regret not bringing home another dog to be his companion. Although he seemed content with us, I believe every dog would thrive with a sibling to share their days with. When a couple relocated from New Mexico to Colorado, their dog found herself in a similar situation. In their previous home, she enjoyed playdates with friends, but now she felt isolated.
Cambria Was Lonely

As Alisha shared with The Dodo: “We noticed she was getting lonely and wasn’t herself.” Seeing their dog’s sadness broke their hearts, compelling them to take action. With both parents working during the day, Cambria spent too much time alone and needed a furry companion.
Understanding this need, Alisha and her partner decided to adopt another dog to provide Cambria with a sibling.

As they prepared to welcome the new dog, Cambria sensed the excitement, wagging her tail and jumping at the door. When her parents introduced her to Cozy, her joy was palpable. Alisha noted, “She just could not even believe that this was happening.” The moment they met, Cambria warmly welcomed her new sibling, and their parents felt confident they would bond well.
Cambria And Cozy

The days passed and the two dogs gradually began to play and explore their home together, bringing joy to Alisha. She remarked, “But, over the next few days, they blended together so well. And it just felt like we had always had Cozy.” With her new friend, Cambria’s spirit revived, and the sadness was long gone.
The couple is thrilled and proud of Cambria for embracing Cozy, as the two dogs quickly became inseparable friends.

Cambria’s journey highlights the significance of friendships—not only for humans but for our canine companions as well. While they adore us, dogs equally require friendships with other dogs when we’re not around. A long workday can tire anyone, making it tough to engage in play, which is why having a dog sibling can be incredibly beneficial. I’m delighted that things turned out so well for Cambria, who now enjoys life with her new best friend.
