When it comes to saving animals, ask any rescuer about the essential qualities needed, and you’ll likely hear patience, perseverance, and a sprinkle of luck. Every rescue mission is distinct; regardless of the challenge, our furry friends deserve a safe, loving environment.
Every rescuer commits to ensuring this lifestyle for them as swiftly as possible. Take Bella, for instance, a terrified pup who spent days hiding beneath a truck, too frightened to trust anyone. Fortunately, help arrived just in time.
Rescue Mission

The rescue effort began when Bella was seen trembling beneath a truck near her Los Angeles neighborhood, where rescuer Suzette Hall was immediately informed of the little angel in distress. The moment Hall got the news, she jumped into her car, while her friend and fellow rescuer, Hilary Klein, reached the site first to assess the situation.
Together, they quickly spotted Bella, who was shaking with fear and visibly anxious about letting anyone near her. When she noticed the rescuers, Bella darted to another truck, indicating her reluctance to trust anyone. At that moment, both rescuers understood the night would be a long one.
Recognizing the need for a clever strategy, Hall devised a plan to tempt Bella out using food. She gathered an array of enticing offerings—burgers, bacon, teriyaki chicken, and hot dogs—hoping one might lure her in. Despite their efforts, Bella remained too terrified, only daring to sniff the food before retreating back under the truck.

Be Patient
As night fell, the rescuers grew increasingly anxious as hours rolled by without Bella emerging. Nevertheless, they remained determined and refused to give up! Hall decided to pick up another hot dog and bait the trap once more in hopes that the overpowering aroma would entice Bella.
After about thirty minutes, she checked the trap, and there Bella was—finally safe inside after mustering the courage to take a bite of food.

After ensuring Bella received a thorough check-up at the vet, Hall decided to share her inspiring story on social media, hoping someone might recognize the sweet girl and give her a forever home. To her delight, Bella’s family spotted the post and reached out to Suzette to arrange a reunion with their beloved pup.
The moment Bella saw her dad, joy radiated from her. Their family was whole again.

Bella’s rescue story exemplifies that animal rescue often demands more than just swift action. Results may not come immediately, but with patience and unwavering commitment, we can truly make a difference.
