Charming Senior Dog Returned to New Jersey Shelter Three Times – It Wasn’t Her Fault!

Date:

Animals have emotions just like us. They can feel overwhelmed, confused, and exhausted from constant changes in their environment. In fact, they can often face much tougher challenges than we do. While we might believe everything happens for a reason, they may not have that same comfort.

Animals roaming the streets or spending years in overcrowded shelters can develop feelings of insecurity, wondering if there’s something wrong with them—can we blame them for feeling that way?

I Am A Good Girl, I Promise

The staff at Eleventh Hour Rescue in New Jersey has seen too many heartbroken senior pups come through their shelter. They are dedicated to finding these furry friends a forever home as soon as possible. Currently, they’re seeking a loving family for a very special pup named Isla. Sadly, Isla has been returned to the shelter three times due to circumstances beyond her control. Anyone who spends moment with her knows she is the sweetest girl who just wants to love and be loved.

What keeps her coming back to the shelter is her need to be the only pet in her new home. Although she enjoys playing with smaller dogs, her lack of experience living with them 24/7 makes her a bit anxious.

Never Giving Up

Knowing how happy she would make any family willing to give her a chance, the dedicated team at the shelter refuses to give up on her. They make every effort to introduce Isla to potential adopters, highlighting her many wonderful qualities. As one of Isla’s foster parents shared, “She is such a sweet and gentle soul, full of energy for a 9-year-old. She enjoys long walks and never pulls on the leash. Just yesterday, we covered 5.65 miles in just a few hours – I’ll be in great shape by week’s end!” But as they say, good things come to those who wait – Isla finally found a family that recognized her true potential.

Since then, Isla has been thriving in a warm and loving environment with a family that has allowed her to release the burdens of her past, embracing her bright, loving future. A heartfelt thank you goes to Isla’s new family for providing her with the life she always dreamed of. Nevertheless, we must not forget the other senior pups who share a similar fate to Isla’s past. If you can open your home to a devoted furry friend who will cherish you, visit your local shelter and make a difference in their lives!
