Countless pairs of cats and dogs have proven that they can’t bear to be apart, effectively dispelling the myth that these two species are natural enemies.
One such duo features the star of today’s tale!
A Heartwarming Discovery
During a playful afternoon in his backyard, a Golden Retriever named Tristan discovered something unexpected nestled in the grass. After a thorough sniff, Tristan realized he had found a tiny black kitten!
“Tristan has a knack for finding orphaned animals. It’s as if he has an instinct for it,” his owner, Aly Conyers, shared with People.
She added that only days earlier, her golden boy had discovered a newborn deer on their property in Tennessee.
Upon spotting the kitten, he hurried inside, doing everything in his power to grab his mom’s attention. Following his persistent barking, Conyers trailed him back to the sweet little creature.
“He was absolutely excited,” Conyers recalled.
Realizing the kitten was a helpless newborn missing its mother, Conyers opted to wait a while, hoping the mama cat would return for her precious baby. However, after hours passed without a sign, Conyers decided to take the kitten under her wing.
Unbeknownst to her, help was already at hand!
Two Cherished Friends
As a newborn, the kitten requires ample love and care.
Conyers ensures his little body stays clean and that his tummy is filled. Meanwhile, Tristan takes on the role of protector… and of course, provides plenty of fun. It’s safe to say that the kitten adores his new big brother!
“It’s amusing to watch how this kitten always tries to move closer to Tristan, even when he was tiny and just managing to waddle. I have other dogs here, and they’re all curious about him, but this cat shows no interest in them; his affection is entirely for Tristan,” Conyers shares.
Tristan truly embodies the ideal babysitter!
However, with Conyers’s home in Tennessee being home to six other dogs, one kitten was simply not enough! A couple of weeks later, Tristan and his furry siblings lucked out and discovered even more kittens in the backyard!
While everyone is doing wonderfully taking care of the adorable litter, Tristan particularly stands out!
Not only is this lovable golden boy gentle with his kitten siblings, but he also proves to be an amazing companion to all kinds!
“Of course, Tristan has a way of charming everyone. When we take him out, it’s evident that people can hardly contain their excitement. It’s like walking around with a celebrity,” Conyers concluded.
