One thing that is really reliable when adopting a puppy is that we can usually picture how they will look when they grow up. In fact, that is about the only thing that changes about them; their playful and outgoing attitude will always be there. However, when it comes to this woman from California, things didn’t quite turn out the way she expected. She adopted a sweet puppy but soon noticed something odd about her as she was growing up.
Is It The Same Dog?!
When the owner first adopted her dog from a shelter in California, she was a beautiful puppy with very dark fur, making her resemble a larger breed. However, the owner didn’t specify which breed her dog was, with the best guess being a Whippet and Terrier mix. As the puppy grew, her owner began to notice significant changes. Her fur changed color completely, and by the time she reached adulthood, she looked unrecognizable.
This transformation surprised her owner, who found it bewildering that such a drastic change could occur. It wasn’t a minor alteration in her looks; she had truly transformed into an entirely different dog. While she thought the change was somewhat humorous and had envisioned a ‘cute’ pup growing up, she decided to take before-and-after photos.
Even The Internet Is Confused
After posting her dog’s photos on her TikTok account, she received a plethora of amusing comments. One person hilariously questioned, “Are you sure no one switched out your dog?” I must admit, I would feel the same way if I didn’t interact with her daily! Such a substantial alteration doesn’t happen often. Another commenter suggested, “Get her haircut 100% different look. I used to have a Terrier mix too. He looked like a whole different dog when his hair was cut.”
While one suggested a haircut, the owner jested that she doesn’t believe her dog is ‘ugly’—rather, she is just poking fun at her appearance. Lastly, someone else humorously mentioned, “Lmfao… not me buying a toy poodle/terrier mix bc she looked sad but 100% I have a feeling this will be her bc her hair is already wild.” This individual will just have to wait and see, but I’m sure they’ll end up loving their furry friend. Regardless, this unique pup is clearly living her best life, and it’s evident her owner cherishes her. Even though she may differ from what the owner anticipated, she remains an adorable dog, and that’s all that truly matters.
