A homeless individual found Midge wandering alone and brought her to Desert Hot Springs Animal Care in North Palm Springs, California. The staff welcomed her and quickly learned about her story—she had once had a family but got lost after jumping out of a car window at a gas station.
The shelter contacted her owners, expecting a joyful reunion. However, when they visited, the outcome surprised everyone and left Midge heartbroken. Her family promised to pick her up after her spaying procedure, but sadly, they never returned. As time passed, Midge’s hope started fading. Despite the shelter staff’s efforts to cheer her up and share her story on social media to attract potential adopters, no one showed interest in adopting her. Every day, Midge felt more invisible, especially as she watched her friends get adopted while she remained behind the kennel bars, longing for her forever home.
Betrayed By Her Family

Midge’s days at the shelter were filled with loneliness and uncertainty, as she longed for love and companionship. Thankfully, Alex Hernandez, one of the caretakers, was determined to lift her spirits. She took Midge on regular adventures to help combat her sadness.
Midge Receives Amazing News

One day, Hernandez took Midge out of the California shelter, placing her in the front seat of the car. With a sigh of relief, Midge felt the peace that had been absent from her noisy shelter life and soon fell asleep. Ella Hovsepian captured this precious moment in a video that touched the hearts of many.
“Your shelter caretaker takes you out of the kennel for a break from all the barking & all you want to do is sleep because shelter pups on average get 2 hrs of sleep every night,” Hovsepian wrote in the video.
The heartwarming video captured significant attention, leading to Midge’s story spreading far and wide. Eventually, a wonderful family found her through the video and decided to adopt her.

Midge quickly settled into her new home, soaking in the love and attention from her family. From then on, she enjoyed the comfort of fluffy beds and embraced the warmth of a loving household.
