Surprises bring joy, especially those that can brighten our days. Such was the experience of the team at The Animal Rescue Center of California when they received two unexpected boxes at their Coachella office.
Upon opening one box, their expressions transformed into pure joy as they discovered tiny kittens inside. Without hesitation, one staff member quickly arranged for a foster parent, who was waiting at the Cat Clinic just 30 minutes from their location.
The elderly foster mom, Dani, was very experienced with kittens. She gently fed the little ones and provided them with the care they needed.
The staff at the rescue center were ecstatic, but their happiness intensified when they opened the second box.
Furry Surprise
The anticipation grew as they prepared to open the second box, sensing something wonderful awaited them inside. Once the box was opened, they were welcomed by the delightful sight of a small rescue puppy.
The tiny six-week-old pup was named Griffin. Discovered in a field in Thermal, he was a Chihuahua mix weighing just 2.75 lbs and was significantly underweight.
To make matters worse, Griffin was covered in ticks, so the first order of business was to thoroughly clean him and give him a nice bath. Afterward, they fed him, which helped regain some of his strength and brought out his true personality.
Griffin quickly demonstrated his happy and playful nature, blending in seamlessly with the other dogs at the ARC. Despite their larger sizes, he didn’t let that deter him.
In fact, he found his best friend in the biggest dog there, an eight-month-old Staffordshire mix named Mackenzie, weighing 75 lbs.
The team at The Animal Rescue Center of California even shared a video featuring this duo titled “Two Puppies, Two Different Sizes.”
“Both of these ARC puppies were found outdoors and are now flourishing. Mackenzie is the last puppy from The Coachella 6 and has taken on the role of big sister to our newest rescue, Griffin, who is approximately six weeks old. Enjoy some adorable puppy love!” they shared in a Facebook post.
In no time, Griffin became the ARC’s favorite puppy, found a best friend many times his size, and even gained fame on the internet.
His only missing element was a forever home, but it didn’t take long for that to happen.
New Box Of Joy
Susan, a recent transplant from Michigan to Coachella, California, sought a furry companion to complement her new life closer to her children.
Although she quickly settled into her new job and enjoyed proximity to family, she felt a longing for a pet companion. Susan has always had a dog and soon realized she needed a furry friend in her new environment.
One day, she stumbled upon Griffin’s adorable video featuring his Almond Butter smacking, and she immediately felt that Griffin was the perfect match for her.
Following her gut instinct, she reached out to The Animal Rescue Center of California, which led to a new box of joy arriving at her home. Once again, the delightful little Griffin brought happiness, this time to his forever family.
“As soon as Griffin was placed in Susan’s arms, we recognized that he would love this family, and there was no doubt they adored him. Welcome home, Griffin,” the ARC shared in their Facebook post.
This little dog stole the hearts of numerous spectators as he emerged from his joy-filled box. Now, he was set to experience delightful surprises from his new family, who would nurture him with boundless love every day.
This lovable boy deserves nothing short of that.
