While driving along a freeway in Rubidoux, California, David Loop, the founder of an animal rescue called Sierra Pacific Furbabies, spotted a mysterious black lump near an exit ramp. Concerned it might be a distressed animal, he hit the brakes, exited his vehicle, and rushed to investigate. A wave of sadness washed over him as he discovered it was a dog that had been hit by a car, seemingly lifeless. However, as he approached, he noticed the pup was still breathing, prompting him to call his team for immediate assistance.
Shiloh Receives Urgent Help

When Shiloh caught sight of Loop approaching, he lifted his head, albeit fearfully. Though injured, he began to growl. Loop comforted the pup, assuring him that he was safe now. Shortly after, the rescue team arrived, carefully lifting Shiloh onto a comfy bed in their truck and rushing him to the emergency vet. As they sped away, Loop cuddled Shiloh to ease his anxiety, and the pup gradually relaxed, realizing he was in safe hands.
Upon reaching the veterinary clinic, Shiloh instantly stole everyone’s hearts. The veterinarians provided a thorough examination; while he did not have any broken bones, he was unable to move his back legs. Loop and the vet team were understandably concerned.
“The prognosis was not good. He had head trauma and complete paralysis,” Loop shared on Instagram.
The veterinary team was dedicated to Shiloh’s recovery, giving him the constant care he needed. It was a joyous moment when they noted his response to pain in his back legs. After a week of intensive care, they determined he was stable enough to continue his recovery at Loop’s house.
Recovering At Loop’s Home

Once home, Loop and his family enveloped Shiloh in love and care. Uncertain about his ability to walk again, the family committed to supporting him, hand-feeding him to help regain his strength. “He was the best patient ever,” Loop expressed. They pursued various therapeutic treatments, including water therapy and laser treatments. However, it was the profound love from Loop’s family that truly played a pivotal role in Shiloh’s recovery.
Shiloh’s once fearful eyes began to sparkle with hope and affection. The family rejoiced when they witnessed him wagging his tail for the first time, affirming that he was getting better and ready to fight harder. They felt emotional as he attempted to sit up on his own after a couple of weeks.
“He’s an amazing little doggy [who] has a strong desire to live. He’s another miracle baby,” Loop added.
Against all odds, the adorable pup made a remarkable recovery, regaining the ability to walk and run.
A Life Filled With Love

A month post-rescue, Shiloh found his forever mom and leaped joyfully into her arms. Thrilled to begin a new life, he was showered with love by his new family, which brought warmth to his sparkling eyes. Shiloh is now living his best life, playing with his toys and enjoying the company of his doggy sibling, forming a wonderful friendship.
We celebrate Shiloh’s incredible journey, his resilience shining through every challenge he faced on his path to happiness. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Loop and his family for their unwavering dedication and the profound love they provided this beautiful pup.
