California Rescuers Discover the Surprising Truth Behind the Dogs They Saved With Mysterious Objects on Their Heads

Date:

When Peanut Butter and Jelly were rescued from the streets and taken to Sonoma County Animal Services in California, they generated a lot of buzz. Upon arrival, the shelter staff immediately noticed something unusual—a shiny object glued to their foreheads. The team was both shocked and confused when they discovered it was jewelry, something they had never encountered before in their years of animal care.

The Adorable Duo Finds A Home

Peanut Butter, a Beagle and Pug mix, and Jelly, a female Chihuahua mix, underwent a thorough examination by the veterinary team who promptly removed the jewels and glue, ensuring that it didn’t contain any harmful substances. Thankfully, no serious damage was found, although both dogs had suffered secondary burns that left scars. Other than that, they were in good health and excited to find a loving forever home.

Eventually, a wonderful family adopted the pair, providing them with love and care. Unfortunately, after the passing of their owner, Peanut Butter and Jelly found themselves in need of a new family.

At The Shelter Once Again

They were returned to Sonoma County Animal Services, but now as seniors, they were transferred to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, which specializes in finding homes for dogs over seven years old. Their foster mom, Lisa Arden, provided them with exceptional care and affection.

“They are very sweet and friendly dogs who are great around people and get along well with other dogs. They continue to blossom in foster, showing both of their silly personalities. They are both still quite active and love to run around and play. They are just the most wonderful dogs,” Arden told The Dodo.

With big personalities, Jelly often took charge, enjoying the role of boss over Peanut Butter.

A Forever Home

After three months of fostering without adoption applications, Arden made a TikTok video to introduce the dogs to her audience. The video went viral, showcasing their wonderful personalities and garnering significant attention.

On October 26th, 2023, Arden excitedly announced on her Instagram that Peanut Butter and Jelly had a successful virtual meet and greet with their future dad. They had an amazing time, and Arden felt confident that the pups had found the ideal home. They eagerly await the finalization of their adoption, ready to embark on new adventures with their new father.

We couldn’t be happier that these lovely pups have found their forever home, and we wish them countless joyful moments with their new dad.
