Witnessing the countless animals wandering the streets is truly heartbreaking. However, it also reminds me that there are kind-hearted individuals who strive to help these animals every day, giving me a sense of hope.
One particular pup was abandoned at a local mall, enduring unimaginable pain and cruelty, even getting hit by cars. Fortunately, a worker noticed the anguish in his eyes and began bringing him treats.
A Much Needed Rescue Mission
The pup continued to limp around the mall parking lot and lay beneath a tree, unaware of the impending change in his life. Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy in Irvine, California, was on her way with some reinforcements! Upon seeing the distressed pup, her heart broke for him.
The pain and suffering he had endured were evident, and all he wanted was a warm meal and a comfy bed. Thankfully, he was about to receive just that.
To avoid frightening him away, Hall and her team set up a trap, patiently waiting for the pup to walk in. And, he did! When he saw the rescuers approaching, he began wagging his tail in happiness, finally understanding he was saved.
The Californian rescuer swiftly got him into her car and rushed him to the vet for a comprehensive medical examination.
The Beginning Of A New Chapter
After thorough examinations, the vet confirmed that the pup, now named Bruiser, had a broken pelvis requiring surgical intervention. He stayed at the vet’s office, receiving the necessary medical care and pain relief.
Despite it all, Bruiser is a sweet dog. He enjoys spending time with his new humans, showering them with love and affection whenever he can. “It always amazes me how scared they are on the streets and then how thankful they are after they know they were rescued,” Hall reflected in a Facebook post.
As he awaits surgery, likely involving a plate insertion in his pelvis, Bruiser remains surrounded by loving company that ensures he has enjoyable times and tasty treats.
As time progressed, something remarkable happened— Bruiser began to heal on his own! He was no longer in need of that costly surgery; all he required was a bit of time and a lot of rest. This is the power of love and dedication towards a pup!
“Bruiser will be on cage rest with his amazing foster mom. His hip fractures are in line to heal on their own,” Hall shared in an update. I believe that the time he spends with his incredible foster mom will help this sweet boy heal in no time. I eagerly anticipate seeing Bruiser joyfully running around with his forever family; he truly deserves the world!
