The job of a dog rescuer never ends. After falling in love with these four-legged furballs, your dedication to saving their lives becomes unwavering, even through the heartbreak of challenging rescues. This unwavering commitment is embodied by California animal control officer Rudy Pina, a longtime rescuer who has encountered some truly distressing scenarios, including dogs being abandoned in the most unexpected places.
One such instance occurred when Pina received a call from a local motel in Fresno. While performing her daily rounds, a housekeeper discovered an astonishing surprise hidden in one of the rooms – a puppy!
Hiding Behind A Bed
No one knows how long this innocent-looking Pittie pup stayed in the room, patiently waiting for his owner, who never returned. Unfortunately, he was left stuck between two beds without food or water.
Upon Pina’s arrival, the pup cautiously peeked from behind the bed. Initially frightened by the unfamiliar man, he quickly hid under it. However, Pina’s gentle call warmed the pup’s heart, and he began to realize he was there to be rescued. In just moments, the pup relaxed, rolling onto his back and craving belly rubs, as if they were lifelong friends.
Pina and the abandoned pup shared sweet cuddles before the officer carefully placed him in the kennel of his vehicle. Together, they embarked on their journey to Fresno Animal Center.

Looking For A Home To Call His Own
The pup’s inaugural ride to the Fresno Animal Center was nothing short of spectacular. Initially placed in a kennel, the pup soon found comfort riding in the passenger seat beside Pina, who wanted to ensure he felt relaxed during the trip. Upon arrival, the puppy received much-needed care.
Pina describes the motel Pittie as super friendly and happy-go-lucky. He shared on TikTok, “Puppy abandoned at Motel6 on Blackstone in Fresno. Super handsome, VERY friendly Pitty. He is currently at the @Fresno Animal Center waiting for his forever home.” Until someone adopts or fosters him, the puppy will continue receiving care at the shelter. Given his adorable personality, he certainly doesn’t deserve to spend time there.
