California Homeowner Hears Mysterious Noise in Wall and Uncovers Shocking Secret

Date:

Hope For Paws is known for undertaking some incredibly challenging rescue missions, but one particular rescue stands out as one of their toughest. Late at night, Hope For Paws, California received an urgent message about faint kitten sounds emanating from a homeowner’s wall. Eldad, the founder, accompanied by rescuers Loreta and JoAnn, rushed out, unaware of the difficulties ahead.

Upon arrival around midnight, the rescuers found out that the desperate kitten cries had ceased 8 hours earlier, raising concerns that the little ones might not be alive anymore. “After 8 hours without making a sound, I feared they had already passed away,” Eldad mentioned.

“This rescue was seriously challenging… without any indication of life, we had to ask the homeowner to destroy his property,” the rescue team later shared on their Facebook post.

Equipped with masks and flashlights, the rescuers began poking holes into the wall. To ease their guilt over damaging the homeowner’s property, they chatted about the oddities they’ve discovered behind walls in the past. When they first inspected the wall with a camera, all they saw were old newspapers, necessitating a larger drill hole. Just as they were considering leaving with nothing, Loreta spotted movement—the kittens were alive!

With one more large hole drilled in the living room, they extracted two small kittens—each only about two weeks old. “We thoroughly checked that there were no more kittens in the wall,” the team confirmed.

A Wonderful Rescue

While the circumstances of how the kittens ended up inside the wall remain a mystery, the rescuers speculated,

“We believe they fell from the attic to the ground (15ft), and once that happened, the mom relocated the siblings, and she was never seen again by the homeowner.”

Once rescued, JoAnn provided the kittens with sugar water for a much-needed glucose boost. Her expertise was vital in keeping them alive. “She became their mom, and for the next 8 weeks she bottle-fed them, kept them clean and warm, and the result is just amazing,” they reflected. The female kitten was named Blondie, while the male was dubbed Dagwood.

The Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats generously agreed to foster the two kittens and help them find a forever home. Although no official statement confirms it, I strongly believe these two adorable furballs found their loving forever home, where they thrive happily.
